Imperfect Dark is a spoof of an actual commercial for the 2000 N64 game Perfect Dark (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BtX2hOUGrw). By applying the real commercial’s treatment of Perfect Dark’s female protagonist to an imagined male character, this animation highlights how the appeal of female heroes is often linked to their sexual desirability in ways that would be absurd if applied to male heroes.
