Can’t get enough of Ordinary Women: Daring to Defy History? We’ve got just the thing if you’re an educator, student, community organizer or just someone inspired by the five women in the series who would like to learn more!
Each PDF available here was developed by Brittany Tomin in partnership with ReFiG and York University. They each represents a further dive into the history and issues surrounding the amazing, brilliant — or fearsome — women we explored in the Ordinary Women series. Our hope is that you will take the opportunity to revisit each episode and start conversations about the scientists, activists, leaders, and artists within…and then start to demand a media that includes more stories like theirs.
The curricula is available for download free of charge, and may be reproduced for non-commercial use.
The Ordinary Women: Daring to Defy History curriculum has been designed to support educational development in both schools and community organizations, so that a broader range of individuals can learn from these remarkable women. The curriculum contains a variety of activities that can help facilitate learning when used alongside the video series in many different educational contexts.
